The Highland Homestead is home to an array of animals, who each serve their own purpose in keeping the farm healthy and sustainable. Currently we have 2 breeds of pigs, a small mixed flock of sheep, dairy goats and our pet horses.

Throughout the year, we have wonderful babies for sale, as well as hand crafted products made right here on the farm. Each animal is a crucial part of our permaculture based system, meaning they play a vital role in the upkeep of The Highland Homestead. The Pigs

The Highland Homestead is home to two wonderful breeds of pig, Kune Kune and Middle White. Both of these fantastic breeds are ideal for the small holder and make fantastic additions to the family farm.

The Sheep

The Highland Homestead flock consists of several breeds, focussing on dual purpose for meat and fibre production. All of our sheep are pasture raised and a vital part of our grassland management.

The Goats

The Highland Homestead is currently home to 3 doelings, Juniper, Hazel and Willow. These girls will be going on to provide the dairy on the farm as well as some other handmade goodies!
